1997 Xj Door Wont Lock

I recently purchased a new key fob and have been locking the car with the remote it still goes beep beep but i realised yesterday it is not locking it when i thought it was.

Ok i know the fact the car goes beep beep when i lock it manually not with a fob means i have a door open more specificly the sensor on my boot latch is gone. Now i can t open the driver side door at all.
